This profile shot made the Alpha-Jet look a bit weird.

Vertical Chines? Canards? Air-brakes? WTF?

And that hambuger fork? Weird placement if they're pitots.
Maybe a .50 cal Slingshot?

Can anyone venture a guess? If needed, take another look at
Mitchell Holman's original post for a larger view.

OK, it looks like they are airbrakes, but smaller versions
than the hardened military versions I found on google. I
guess weight differential determined size.

BUT - couldn't find any other image of the hamburger fork.

They are indeed airbrakes in your blue box. The yellow oval shows the
rams that have pushed them out. I'll now look for a pic of them here.

And here's one of those actual Alpha Jets in that rather strange ASAS
colour scheme.
From WIKI
The Asas De Portugal (Wings of Portugal) is a flight demonstration team
created in 1977 integrated with Esquadra 103 (103 Squadron) of the
Portuguese Air Force. They are Portugal's national aerobatic flying team
and fly two ex-Luftwaffe Dassault-Breguet/Dornier Alpha Jet. Their
colour scheme is very dramatic and colourful and displays can often be
compared to the syncro pair from the Patrouille de France.
